Hal Fishman, 1931-2007
Hal Fishman, a fixture in L.A. news, passed away this morning after falling ill just a few days ago. He was later diagnosed with colon cancer which would ultimately take his life.
While there isn’t anything that I can say that hasn’t already been said somewhere, I’ll just share this:
If you don’t live in the L.A. area then you don’t understand the passion residents have for KTLA’s News at Ten (now called Prime News). Many of us, myself included, literally grew up watching Fishman’s broadcasts and can recall Fishman putting his professional slant many stories that would have been otherwise dull. Awards and accolades aside, he was the one man you could turn to if you wanted news delivered with true dedication.
Requiem in pace, Mr. Fishman. And fly high.
Note: Comments are off as they will be better served by posting them at the KTLA Web site.
