The closer I creep to the age which traditionally has meant your life is half over, I find it absolutely incredulous to think that it’s the same age that John Lennon was when he was assassinated 28 years ago today.

I don’t know if I attribute such a thought to the success he achieved in his short time on this material sphere, or whether it’s just me beginning to realize that I myself will eventually slip away into nothingness. Either way, in a music world currently dominated with Hannah Montanas, High School Musicals and American Idols, and I am even more grateful for the legacy of music which Lennon left us as a member of The Beatles and as himself.

Thanks, John. You definitely passed the audition.
