I’m demanding some recognition from Rosarito! I just sent this e-mail using the addresses listed on their POST form. Sneaky, aren’t I?

Subject: Billboard Correction
On January 16, 2008, I sent the following e-mail via Rosarito.org:
Are you aware of the spelling error on your current billboard? I see it every day on my way to work and had to do a double-take when I first saw it. (Link to image: http://i7.tinypic.com/8fo5s1e.jpg ) The image is a bit blurry since I took it from a moving train but the number reads “1.800.BAJA” and nothing else. Just thought you’d like to know in case you hadn’t yet.
On January 22, 2008, I noticed that the billboard had been corrected.
Would asking for a little recognition be too much? Perhaps a simple “thanks for” or a more elaborate “you saved us thousands of dollars in tourism money; we appreciate your taking the photograph and alerting us of this problem”? A Rosarito Beach ashtray? Anything?
Look, I’ve never even been to Rosarito Beach but I did cruise to Ensenada last year and had a blast. I’m just sayin’.
And by the way, there’s a spelling error on your homepage:
You have discovered a truly magical world just 20 scenic miles south from the U.S. boarder.
That should be “border.” Did I mention I’m a proofreader?
Long Beach, CA
What happens next? Stay tuned!
