Grammy Wrap-Up

The Grammys were last night and well…oh, who the fuck am I kidding? I didn’t bother watching much. What I did see was a bunch of people I’d never even heard of and one of the most over-hyped bands of all-time: Radiohead, who pulled Fleetwood Mac and played with the USC marching band. Call me weird but I don’t get the attraction. I really don’t.

Who (or what) is an Adele?

And is it me, or is Robert Plant looking more and more (an older version of) like Jeff Lebowski with each passing day?

  1. The problem with Radiohead is not that they aren’t a good band, they are. But they’ve lost the willingness or the ability or the know-how to be entertaining.

And Robert Plant has earned the right to do whatever the heck he wants to do. He is a golden god.

    1. I just don’t get Radiohead.

And I’m not taking anything away from Plant; just saying he bears an uncanny resemblance to The Dude…man.

  2. Adele is fabulous!
    Simply fabulous.

Can’t stand Radiohead…little freaky deakys that group.
Gimme some good Cold Play any day.

Then again I didn’t watch the Grammys.

    1. I have CDs older than Adele! While she may retain popularity in the UK, she’s pretty much received the Kiss of Death from America after being named Grammy’s Best New Artist.

      I just don’t get Radiohead.

Coldplay is rather hit-and-miss with me. I have “Parachutes” only because we played a few cuts from it when I worked at Best Buy. Those were the only good songs on that album, IMHO. But I’ve heard clips of “Viva La Vida” and have to admit it’s definitely different–and could be worth buying someday.

  3. All Coldplay songs sound the same to me.Way over hyped for me.There was not a single person nominated that I had heard of really.Best New Artist is not death,it’s just a like a priest coming in to give you some choice Latin words. But the track record is not so great.Look it up!

    1. @ Brother Raul: Yeah, I can imagine it’s difficult for Coldplay to generate something with real musical substance like that of Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana or High School Musical. Talk about your over-hyped garbage.

@ Tony: I just don’t get Radiohead. But I hate the fucking Eagles, man.

  4. Robert Plant looks like the Dude?!?

Well, that’s just like…You know. Your opinion. Man.

For my money it just doesn’t get any better than when Radiohead sings “When a Man Loves a Woman.” I admit it–I am a radiohead fan.

Hey, they’re a bunch of whiny, pretentious, quasi-Emos, but their older stuff really pumps my nads.

    Coldplay… Not so much.
