Blog Break, Part Deux

A little over a year ago, I decided to take a break from blogging to “find myself” and do other constructive things in the evening.

While I did take my break, I never really did accomplish much. What an asshole.

On this, the 600th post of my blogging career (shared between WordPress and my old home at Blogger), I’ve decided it’s time to do it yet again and just like last time, I’m not sure how long I will be gone. I had my mind set on a month last time and I only made it to two weeks, so who knows, I may be back before you and I know it.

I’ve been itching to write–badly. Not so much blog posts but stuff that will challenge me even more and put my writing abilities to the test. And I know in the past I’d mentioned that I had all but given up on screenwriting, I’m going to try it after all. I don’t care if I just come up with something like a script for an episode of The Simpsons, I’m going to try and generate something in proper screenwriting format.

At this point in my life, in my mind there isn’t a thing I can’t accomplish. Most of this change in attitude came from my weight loss of over 100 lbs. I know you all are probably tired of hearing about it but Hell, that’s a big deal for me, one that definitely adjusted my outlook on things. I feel great, look better, and while I may only be making half the money I used to, I’m truly happy.

So there you have it. I’ve installed Final Draft on both computers and I’m ready to dive into something. Now all I need is my muse.

  1. Dave, I will really miss you but kudos for going after something you truly want. I’m glad you’re reaching for that brass ring and if you get a chance, keep us posted every now and then with a short tweet. I wish you best of everything. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Preston. It’s nice to know I’ll be missed! This isn’t something I want to do; it’s something I need to do.

      I will post occasional updates but for now I’m concentrating on writing and a few other things that need to be tended to. I started to tool around with Final Draft last night to get the hang of it and don’t know why I didn’t work with it sooner. This should be fun 🙂

    1. I haven’t written anything just yet but have been “studying” by watching some movies. Will post more when my little sabbatical is done 🙂
