Today’s topic comes right on the heels of a fellow blogger’s topic, posted a few days ago.
It turns out that she is going back to school to study for some work-related stuff, which is cool. We could all use a little more knowledge in our heads.
Then I get to work Monday morning and was approached by my manager.
I was asked if I would be interested on taking a course entitled “Developing a Web Site.” After all, I do work in the department responsible for building our company’s Web sites and must proof them as needed. And because our company is a world leader in hands-on training for IT and management professionals, the course will be free of charge (Sorry, LadyGypsy!). Not only that, the Training Center is on the ground floor of the building I work in and, as an added employee benefit, Ann can also take the course with me–free of charge.
I figure since the extent of my HTML knowledge is limited to what I forced myself to learn with I used WebTV—you gotta love their exclusive “sidebar” HTML element—I’m going for it. The knowledge could help me out down the road as well. And I must be frank here: I’ve always wanted to learn CSS.
I’ve already signed the paperwork. It’s all going down June 12-15 and my vacation—hopefully a cruise to Mexico—will be the very next week or at least a portion of the week (Thursday and Friday).
Should be a fun time. Yay!
