The cruise was beyond fantastic. We won about $200 on bingo, and I won a little over $70 on the slot machines as well as a $100 “shopping spree” at any of the many duty-free gift shops. Believe me, $100 doesn’t go very far in a jewelry shop but Ann managed to find a necklace for $99.99, so good for her. I probably would have just ended up with $100 worth of Milky Ways.
We rolled in to Ensenada about 5am, docked at about 7:30am and disembarked about 9:00am. We had also booked a tour to La Bufadora, which was very cool. The trip took nearly 50 minutes each way and included a tour of the former Riviera Pacifico Casino that now serves as a cultural center.
Part of the fun of visiting a foreign country, at least for me, is to dig on some of the cars that aren’t available in the U.S. market. For example I saw a Ford Ka, EcoSport and Courier, a Chevy C2 and Vectra, and a Nissan Primera. And yes, I got shots of them all.
Sightseeing aside, spending time on a floating fortress is amazing. There’s pretty much nothing you don’t need; everything is at your disposal once you hit international waters. Once you get your proverbial sea legs, it’s definitely something you’ll remember for a long time. In fact, we definitely plan on doing this again. In short, this was fun as hell.
