Eye of the Tiger

Today, we loaded up the Explorer and drove down Micro Center. It’s nearly 20 miles away but it’s the only one around here. Besides, I had a coupon for a free–yes, free!–1GB SD card of 1GB USB drive.

Besides redeeming the coupon, the only other reason we went there was to check out their newly revamped video game department. Good deals aplenty; I picked up an official XBOX 360 wireless controller for $29.99 a few weeks earlier.

Anyway, Anthony enjoys “playing” the display games there. Sure, he doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing when he’s got the controller in his little hands, but he plays it off and thinks he does.

Or does he?

He was “playing” Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 while Ann was looking for PSP games. At first I thought that the monitor we were sitting in front of was just running a demo disc. Then when Anthony started moving the controller, I noticed things happening.

So there he stood with controller in hand while I was looking around the corner at XBOX 360 games. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed he had teed off. No big deal, I thought.

He had hit the ball off-course and it was headed toward the gallery. I watched to see where it would land. And boy, was I not disappointed.

Once I stopped laughing about where the ball landed, I had to replay the shot a few times and record it with my phone-cam. Why was it so funny? Check out the clip below to find out why:

OUCH!

Anthony, not even 3 years old yet, managed to pull off one of the funniest things I had ever seen in a video game. In case you can’t tell from the fuzzy clip, he hit a man in the gallery square in the nuts. I truly wish the clip was clearer but hey, what can you do?

And also note that the clip is absent of sound. For some reason, the software I use just doesn’t retain sound from clips taken with my phone. If it did, you would hear the guy scream in pain after the ball hits him in the…balls. And the reactions of those around him are priceless.

Eye of the Tiger, indeed. Did I mention he’s not even 3 yet?
