30 Day Song Challenge Begins July 1st

As you can tell by my lack of personal posts, life’s been rather uneventful as of late. And since my loyal readers are probably tired of me blathering about Virgin Mobile phones and surveys (even though I do get amazing traffic because of these posts), I’ve gone ahead and decided to try something a little different.

If you’re on Facebook, you’ve probably seen some of your friends posting what’s called The 30 Day Song Challenge, a little game in which they are provided with a list of topics and have to find a song to match. This is usually coupled with a YouTube video of said song.

But what I’ve found that Facebook doesn’t allow much space for background and whatnot and if you know me, I like to write about stuff.

That’s why I’m bringing The 30 Day Song Challenge here to a wider audience for even more comments and ridicule that I would have gotten from my small circle of Facebook friends and relatives. The list is as follows:

Day 01 – Your favorite song
Day 02 – Your least favorite song
Day 03 – A song that makes you happy
Day 04 – A song that makes you sad
Day 05 – A song that reminds you of someone
Day 06 – A song that reminds of you of somewhere
Day 07 – A song that reminds you of a certain event
Day 08 – A song that you know all the words to
Day 09 – A song that you can dance to
Day 10 – A song that makes you fall asleep
Day 11 – A song from your favorite band
Day 12 – A song from a band you hate
Day 13 – A song that is a guilty pleasure
Day 14 – A song that no one would expect you to love
Day 15 – A song that describes you
Day 16 – A song that you used to love but now hate
Day 17 – A song that you hear often on the radio
Day 18 – A song that you wish you heard on the radio
Day 19 – A song from your favorite album
Day 20 – A song that you listen to when you’re angry
Day 21 – A song that you listen to when you’re happy
Day 22 – A song that you listen to when you’re sad
Day 23 – A song that you want to play at your wedding
Day 24 – A song that you want to play at your funeral
Day 25 – A song that makes you laugh
Day 26 – A song that you can play on an instrument
Day 27 – A song that you wish you could play
Day 28 – A song that makes you feel guilty
Day 29 – A song from your childhood
Day 30 – Your favorite song at this time last year

Yeah, it’s a little too Hannah Montana/My Chemical Romance but as a music lover, I see it as a challenge I’ll gladly accept. In fact, I have already begun to research some of my music to see which topics I have a match for and will begin writing posts tonight but schedule them to go live on July 1, 2011.

Some of the songs won’t shock you if you know me; others may really throw you for a loop. Either way, I think it could be a lot of fun and I look forward to seeing some comments from everybody. And many if not all of the songs will include personal stories you’ve never heard me write about. Note, too, that some may include “Honorable Mention” songs that could also fit the topic but are too good to ignore.
