Fun Friday Post

The inspiration for this post hit me yesterday while at work. I had to look up the spelling of a word in the trusty ol’ Merriam Webster dictionary sitting on my shelf.

I opened it up to a page that I thought was close to the word I was looking for and when I saw the guide words at the top, I had to laugh.

They were “numerous – nuts.”

So then I decided to skim through a little bit more and see what other nifty combinations I could come across. Here is what I found (sans the n-dash):

  • High-speed hinge
  • Faith fall apart (sounds like the lead singer of a rock band)
  • Pom-pom poop
  • Cranium crawler
  • Jumpsuit jurisprudence
  • Scarious scent
  • Weary wedding march
  • Precious predicament

Wanna have a go at it? Grab your nearest dictionary, find the best ones you can and post at least five of them in the comments section.

GO! And have a great weekend!

By the way, I hope the new blog design wasn’t too shocking. WordPress changed things around yesterday so I figured while I’m finding my way around the new place, I might as well make some changes. So there you go, and don’t be surprised to see more changes in the near future!

  1. Dave, your blog looks great. Absolutely love the “Holiday” banner. 🙂

    castigate chaps
    every executive
    foremost fraction
    kinky kyrie
    local love
    outlast oversexed
    pitiful plumb
    spin squad

The one with kyrie is kind of funny because a kyrie is a short prayer that consists of the words “Lord, have mercy”

  2. Thanks! I was trying to do something different with the limitations of WordPress since they don’t allow JavaScript. This was the best I could come up with so far.

And those phrases are great. A kinky god, eh? Interesting. But “pitiful plumb” seems to be my favorite!

Oh, and with the new overhaul, I’m commenting back in your original comments. Just makes it easier methinks.
