Like every other mass merchant on the face of Mother Earth, CVS Pharmacy offers a Rewards Program designed to entice shoppers to buy from them rather than the competition. And for the most part their rewards have been worth getting: we once got one for $10 off a purchase of $20 or more, which was nice. Stuff like that comes in handy.
Ann got an e-mail just before Christmas from CVS telling her to click the link to print out a coupon for her “Free Gift!” So she did…and she was so amused by the choices that she then sent the e-mail to me.
I was sitting at my desk at work, laughing and in tears when I saw what her choices were. I then sent it to my co-workers and they stopped wondering why I was laughing so hysterically. So if you want to see the choices for yourself, click on the image to the left to embiggen the screencap.
Oh come on, now. A fuckin’ bag of store-branded pretzels or goddamn adhesive tape? I can’t even call it Scotch tape because, well, it isn’t a name brand. They couldn’t even spring for the real thing! They actually used their own store brand to thank their customers for their loyalty throughout this last year?
Holy hell, CVS! What are you thinking?
